Fashion product photography costs: how billing works

You top up credit and start image sets. Before each start, the Studio shows you the price for the shots you have chosen. Only what is finished gets deducted. You top up credit in the Studio under Credit, via online payment.

There is no subscription, no base fee and no minimum quantity. You can create 300 images for the pre-order in February and only five for a restock in March. You pay for what you actually need.

What affects the price

Number of shots per item: you decide whether an item gets four or eight images
The shot itself: depending on the shot, the price can be above the entry price
Quality level: the optional 4K version costs more than the standard resolution of 2048 pixels on the long edge
Product videos: short clips from a finished on-model image are charged per video

What does a traditional fashion photoshoot cost?

A traditional shoot is priced differently. You do not pay per image but for people and time: model and photographer usually on a day rate, plus studio, styling, retouching and the organisation beforehand. How many items you get through in a day depends on the product group, the shots and the outfit changes. When a restock arrives, planning starts all over again.

For some jobs the real shoot is still the right choice, such as the campaign or the hero image of a season. We do that ourselves in our Munich studio. For ongoing product images, paying per image is usually the clearer calculation.
